I've kept this blog, on and off, since 2006. In 2015 I used it to chart daily encounters, images, thoughts and feelings about volcanic basalt/bluestone in Melbourne and Victoria, especially in the first part of the year. I plan to write a book provisionally titled Bluestone: An Emotional History, about human uses of and feelings for bluestone. But I am also working on quite a few other projects and a big grant application, especially now I am on research leave. I'm working mostly from home, then, for six months, and will need online sociability for company!

Wow, cool!
How did you do that then?
My guess is she bought a new Mac which had a camera built in
Yep, Zoe's right. A tiny camera on the top of the lid of the new laptop, and some groovy i-Photo software that, in combination, allow you to post a photo of yourself that you can preview carefully enough so as not to show your double chins and crow's feet, and then disguise to make yourself look halfway not like a boring academic in front of a row of books.
I was going to take some more and show off (line drawings, sepia, etc.), but the computer is now on the floor of the bedroom as the only place where there is a modem and a powerpoint, and the light is horrid. And in any case, I see from your Facebook picture that you have already found access to similar software..
Home renovations continue apace: will try and post shocking photo of study soon...
